Connecting after running in backgroud problems..

I've seemed to compile and run the circle ok, but everytime I try to 
telnet to it, it just won't connect.. the log file says sometimes that 
it's going to sleep and waiting for a user, later on it said that the 
port was already in use..

I'm running on a sun OS, with a Unix shell account.. Maybe I have to do 
something extra with this type of shell account.

Any ideas..?
