More to the point, the only way you can make the promised $50,000
is for at least 10,000 complete strangers to receive a piece of
paper that implicates you in a federal crime. Hiding your name doesn't
help, because you HAVE to put your address in the letter for the
scheme to work. Using a PO box or mail drop only slows the feds down
a little bit.

The odds are pretty good that one or more of the people who receive
your letter will be a postal worker or IRS agent, and these people do
prosecute chain letters, and they have a lot of resources to throw at
the problem.

Dave Rhodes, the originator of e-mail chain letters of this sort, did
make a LOT of money at it and he also ended up spending a LOT of time
in prison for mail fraud and tax evasion. Still in jail at this time.
Lost everything he owned and will probably die of AIDS.

Now you see why it's so important to stay on topic on the Circle
mailing list. :)
