Take a look at stroms lost lands code...altho it hasnt got a complete 
fully functional clan system, it will probably give you a few ideas 
of where to start. Dont bother trying to compile it tho on a circle 
bpl 11 - its from patch level 8. (And even then, doesnt compile on 
mine).
