I use zmud, and it's perfect. I have a lot of colours too. The problem with zmud, is that you HAVE to goto to View->Preferences->Colours->Foreground and then select "Make regular Colours Dim". The same with background. Also, you can change your default text to dim white in ...->Colours->System Colours. Besides that, Zmud Ansi Colours are perfect, dude. Just do that. Trust me (famous last words).
