As George pointed out, when you post to the list, you'll want to disable certain text formatting features of MS Outlook/Outlook Express. Here are 2 ways to do it: Preferred (this will make your mail pleasantly readable to 99% of the net) 1. Under Tools, choose Options... 2. Select the Internet E-mail tab 3. In the E-mail Sending Format block, choose the MIME radio button and optionally click on the Allow 8-bit characters in headers. 4. Check the box to enable wrapping, and set the value to 72-78 characters. 5. From the drop down box, choose either the ISO or ANSI character set. 6. Click on the Spelling tab, and make sure the option Always check spelling before sending is enabled. ;) Option 2 (useful if everyone in your company uses Outlook) 1. Open up any message from CIRCLE@post.queensu.ca, and right click on the address. Choose Add to Contacts... 2. Once the Contact screen opens up, right click again on the address next to the E-mail drop down box, and choose Properties. 3. Ensure the Always send to this recipient in Microsoft Exchange rich-text format option is cleared. 4. See above, step 6. +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
