Which is why I wrote a seperate function that will end if tildes
are the first char - although I rather like the other suggestion that you
look for tilde, return and null. much cleaner, in my opinion.
I was just lazy - got a complaint, and didn't want to actually
work on it, cause I was doing the peditor :)
