I compile my code both on a Win95 workstation and on a Linux server
running Slackware 2.0.30 and it works fine. The conf.h file must be
different (remember all the versions that came with the stock code?) and
the makefile different, but besides that most of the other files are
platform independant.
If you have trouble, send me some of the errors your getting and I'll see
if I can help you out.
