The idea of using a die system is to give you a different min and max
damage roll. A damage roll of 1d20 will give you a min damage of 1
where a damage roll of 2d10 will give you a min damage of 2. The max
damage stays the same. It also changes the average amout of damage done
by the weapon. I guess it really depends on what your out to have done.
