Instead of precreating a bunch of npcs as fodder (sorry, guildmasters),
determine some algorithm and create them on the fly. In other words,
write, say, a 'guildmaster_advance' special and have it load a predescribed
npc and then assign values to it. Since they don't actually get killed,
you don't even need to load equipment for them.
