JW, 1) if AOL doesn't like it, but them in yourself, we do get paid and so don't work that hard. 2) check out look_at_target() (i think) 3) VC++? have you run it in the debugger and tried looking at it there? what is the point of buying/stealing that program if you are going to get full use from it? 4) if you are running on unix, make sure you are getting a core file in the circle/lib dir. if so, type: gdb bin/circle lib/core from the circle dir in gdb type: info locals backtrace info globals we MUST have some sort of debugging output to help here. No one has managed to build a crystal ball yet. --Angus ______________________________ Forward Header __________________________________ Subject: [CODE] [NEWBIE] do_look crashing MUD! :-( Author: INTERNET:CIRCLE@POST.QUEENSU.CA at CSERVE Date: 4/29/98 8:42 PM I'm using circle code that is only slightly modified, and I haven't touched do_look. However, whenever someone tries to LOOK <direction/obj/mob/player> it crashes the game. They can still use LOOK without arguments, but when they look at something kapow. I have no idea what I've done. :-( Here's the code...sorry if it doesn't do the linefeeds quite right, AOL doesn't like the kind VC++ 5.0 uses. *snip* Damn right *snip* *snip* Thanks, -JW +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
