Object spec_procs are not called ever couples of seconds like mob spec procs are. You can add that functionality in though, just put it right alongside the calls for the mob spec_procs, and have fun (of course, you'll want to parse the objectindex stead of the mobs) Finding the actual code to alter is an exercise left to the reader.
