There is a benifit to having items break. It gets them out of the game. You all know about legacy or "Old" equipment that some players will swear by. (legacy eq is eq that was in player's hands when you downgraded the stats of something through OLC). Eventually this stuff will wear out and die. Death traps just don't do it fast enough. --Angus ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: item breakage Author: INTERNET:CIRCLE@POST.QUEENSU.CA at CSERVE Date: 8/20/98 4:44 PM i just want to say that after playing might and magic 6, that i would NEVER inflict item breakage on my players :) seriously it has got to be the biggest annoyance..having to constantly watch your gear, then take it to the item shop or repair it yourself simply adds tedium to the game..i agree with realism to a certain extent, but not at the cost of playability and enjoyment.. siv +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
