You're better off cold-booting and setting it to non-PNP mode anyway... the settings should stay as you set them there... PNP is a vile evil thing. Check the 3Com web site for the setup utils (they run under DOS). I have 2 3C509's in my Redhat box and they work great. ed -----Original Message----- From: The Fractal Dimension Administration <fracdime@GEOCITIES.COM> To: CIRCLE@post.queensu.ca <CIRCLE@post.queensu.ca> Date: Sunday, August 30, 1998 11:56 PM Subject: Re: [OFFTOPIC] Re: [buffer] enhanced buffer problems! How fun. (Because RedHat, 5.0 at least, has an older > version of the PPP daemon than I used to.) Fortunately I have a 3c905b NIC and most of that should be automated. (But I hear I'd have to readjust to 10 MB/s, cold boot linux, and/or disable PnP BIOS every time just to be able to use it. Joy!) .-------------------------------------------------------------. | The Fractal Dimension -- "Nonexistent mud of the year"| '-------------------------------------------------------------' +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+ +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
