Thanks to George Greer, this new version of mudFTP includes a support for Circle (patch level 14). A release of mudFTP 2.3 is now available from: http://www.abandoned.org/drylock/mudftp/ mudFTP is protocol for text file transfer between the MUD and the users. It allows you to edit e.g. room descriptions, mobprogs, notes etc. locally - using your favorite text editor. Whatever is edited using the standard OLC string editor will, if you have mudFTP enabled, be sent to your mudFTP client and then that client will start up your favorite editor. This is the second public release of mudFTP. A number of MUDs have already installed it and are running it happily. mudFTP has been in constant use at Abandoned Reality for over a year. Currently there are server patches available for Envy, Mythran, ROM, ROT and Circle. Even if you do not have one of these, there is a verbose annotated patch that explains every change required. The mudFTP client runs on any UNIX, Win32 as well as any Java-capable (1.1+) platform. Volunteers to port to other types of servers and client platforms are welcome - there is nothing Diku-specific about the server requirements (in fact, it was easily ported to the ColdC/MinimalCore server), and the protocol is precisely documented. A Macintosh client port would be especially nice Get all the files and further information is available from: http://www.abandoned.org/drylock/mudftp/ Changes since 2.2: * Circle support by George Greer * Solaris client compatibility fixes by Cath Allen -- ============================================================================= <erwin@andreasen.com> Herlev, Denmark UNIX System Programmer <URL:http://www.abandoned.org/drylock/> <*> (not speaking for) DDE ============================================================================= +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
