OK, this is a bit screwy. Actually, really screwy. My MUD crashed a little while ago, and I haven't been able to get it back up and running. I don't know if its a problem in my code, or with the servers hardware, but this is what I get from my logs. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Using lib as data directory. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Running game on port 1701. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Finding player limit. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Setting player limit to 30 using rlimit. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Opening mother connection. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Binding to all IP interfaces on this host. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Boot db -- BEGIN. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Resetting the game time: Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Current Gametime: 14H 22D 0M 253Y. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Loading External Configuration no crashfile found!: No such file or directory Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Reading news, credits, help, bground, info & motds. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Loading zone table. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: 101 zones, 2828 bytes. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Loading triggers and generating index. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: Loading rooms. Mar 13 16:53:50 :: 1335 rooms, 96120 bytes. The MUD crashes here, and generates a core. Core was generated by `g utensils. As you'. Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. find_solib: Can't read pathname for load map: Input/output error #0 0x4007e9a2 in ?? () from /lib/libc.so.6 (gdb) bt #0 0x4007e9a2 in ?? () from /lib/libc.so.6 #1 0x6966206e in ?? () Cannot access memory at address 0x4f202020. Now, I'm no GDB expert, but what this looks like to me is either a memory leak on my end, or insufficient memory on their end. But the MUD booted up with no changes to code/anything else before...
