Uh, I don't understand. Are you describing an interface client or a "system monitor" that the administrators can use to easily monitor the MUD without being logged in invisible... sort of an "at a glance" auto-updating system monitor? If you are talking about an interface client similar to ZMUD or Pueblo, then I don't see why you'd want to re-invent the wheel (unless you are doing it because you want to do it better or something..) On the other hand, if you are talking about a system monitor that is for the MUD administrators which displays a constantly updating window indicating stats about the server and players.. then that's neat! I like it. You could have different tabs for different parts of the system: Summary - Uptime, Peak Users, Current Users, Available HD space, etc Players - Online Player List with Level (kind of a 'who' display) Settings - well, settings and stuff... *shrug* I suppose it'd be a handy utility to keep your finger on the pulse of your system when you don't want to be logged in typing commands at the keyboard to get that individual information... Heck, you could even have a "monitor" tab that displays a scrollable buffer of shouts and gossips... but that's a little too big brother for me (could be useful though if you wanted to keep tabs on certain, ahem, problem players). --- Joe Rykowski ('Cyklop'), SysAdmin/Builder/Coder >> C.O.R.E.
