Holy cow... someone who agrees with me on this point.  I found both books
extremely useful for learning the basics, and it only took me about 2 weeks
to go from complete newbie (former programming experience was about 2 weeks
of BASIC on my Vic20 and about a dozen DG Scripts) to where I could halfway
understand what was going on inside Circle and begin adding/removing code to
my hearts content.  They won't teach you everything there is about C, but
they make it a lot easier to learn the hard stuff.
