This came in from Zugg tonight. If you want him included in the responses, make sure that you cc it to him. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 3 Jan 2000 23:06:34 -0500 From: Zugg <zugg@ZUGGSOFT.COM> To: CIRCLE@post.queensu.ca Subject: Re: Repeating prompts in zMUD Yes, it is very possible that zMUD is sending the password in one packet and the CR/LF in another packet. This is not any violation of telnet or TCP/IP that I'm aware of. The MUD server end is supposed to put together packets regardless of where packet boundries occur. To respond to other issues on this thread, zMUD does *not* use any Microsoft MFC libraries or anything. zMUD is written in Delphi and I wrote the network library I'm using myself. Yes, it *does* use Winsock, which *might* have a bug in it, but given the number of clients that you are having trouble with on this, I *highly* recommend that you take a look at the MUD server code rather than trying to notify a dozen MUD clients about it. It's a lot easier to fix your end then to wait for us to modify our clients. If you have a response to this you want me to see, email me at zugg@zuggsoft.com as I don't monitor this discussion board and was only pointed to this thread by a zMUD user.
