Don't forget the fact that a mobs position is stored in the mob file, generally as an 8. if you stick a new position in the middle and bump up the other position numbers, you'll have to update the positions of all the mobs. If you have to do it.. something simple like looping through the mobs and checking the default position to see if it is >= the new position number, and if it is, bumping it up, and then medit save *all* of your areas to update the mob files.
