a MUD I used to play had it set so that when you die, you can't do anything
until you type 'rebirth'
which brings you back to recall in the usual manner, with xp lose and all.
But if you don't rebirth, you can wait for someone to resurrect you, if you
are fortunate enough to have someone around who can do that. But then you
wake back up with 1 hp. Just my .02 about a lives system since there isn't
a patch.
