There are so many different programs to use to connect to muds, along with so many dirfferent size monitors, different types of graphic, and the last one I can think of is font size. Put all these variables in play and you will never know what the width of the user's screen is. IMO there is no "center". Your best bet is to indent it so it will center on about the 30th column (some will say 40th, the text on smaller screens may wrap or go off edge of the window/screen).
