Apparently BeOS's sockets just aren't similar enough to BSD sockets (which they're based on) for it to compile and run correctly. Certainly shouldn't work, as no other socket-utilising stuff compiles on BeOS either (including TinyFugue, which is the only other one I've tried). Last time I tried was on BeOS 4.5, but I don't believe the situation has changed from 4.5->5, sorry.
