Add a field called "Name" of the exit. and have the "go" command check this variable. That means ie, you can have your standard 6 exits with names in them as well. Imagine "north of here lies the bar", how many newbies do not realize that "north" is the keyword, not "bar". Expand a bit on that one and allow it to have multiple names, such as the Edescs or the names of mob/objs.
