With the Standard telnet client you get with Win98, if you want
what you typed to be echoed back you have to go to Terminal to Preferences
and Click on Local Echo. Numerous other Win9x clients have similar
options. The Win2000 and ME clients do not need that at all as they do
local echo by default.
