Nm that last reply to George, I figured it out.

For future reference, the key to linking with gc++ is to add:
-lstdc++ to LIBS in the Makefile, like so:

# (gcc)
LIBS = -lstdc++
---------
I found the solution after pouring through the Makefile included
in the greymud.tar.gz server found at the Circle FTP site :-)
