Hello to all CircleMud people... I would like to start by saying that anyone I have ever encountered in the CircleMud world has been a very pleasant experence. I have been coding with CircleMud base for about 4 years now, I was running a mud called Rising Moon. It has been up, but currently down (no isp). So I have had plently of time to work out a lot of bugs and tweek a few things here and there. Well I'm writing because I have gotten so much help from the ftp sites and George has even helped me a time or two..that i would like to open up some of my code ideas to the circlemud people..but not sure what people want or need, and not sure if I should post on the CircleMud ftp or the queens ftp site, or both. I am just going to list some things in the email and see where or what some of the things you all would like to have posted... Heres a list of some of the spells outside of CircleMud's norm I use in Rising Moon (Disclaimer: NOT ALL OF THESE SPELLS are writen by me, I have tweeked some of them, but im not in anyway shape or form the orginal author. While some of them i have wrote from the ground up.) SPELL_DEATH SPELL_RAISE_DEAD this is very simlar to the way sloth did there death. (or maybe its a diku thing?) SPELL_WEB SPELL_ENERGY_STORM These next two are cleric spells, they allow a cleric to set a beacon in the room they are in, and then return to it later, kinda like portal or transport or summons spell. SPELL_LLOYDS_SET SPELL_LLOYDS_RETURN SPELL_SILENCE SPELL_MAGIC_ROPE SPELL_UNHOLY_ARMOR SPELL_WRAITHFORM SPELL_UNHOLY_STR SPELL_PRESSURE_STORM SPELL_IMPLODE SPELL_REGEN SPELL_PHASEDOOR SPELL_PLANESHIFT SPELL_GROUP_INVIS SPELL_MAGIC_LANTERN This is a list of some ot the skills that have been added to Rising Moon. (again the disclamer is in effect) SKILL_DOUBLE_ATTACK SKILL_SKIN SKILL_TRIPLE_ATTACK SKILL_QUAD_ATTACK SKILL_D_BACKSTAB SKILL_T_BACKSTAB SKILL_REPAIR SKILL_DOUBLE_KICK SKILL_BLEND SKILL_BANDAGE SKILL_SPY SKILL_THROW SKILL_BOW SKILL_SLING SKILL_CROSSBOW SKILL_CLIMB SKILL_RETREAT SKILL_MOUNT SKILL_RIDING SKILL_TAME ok im sure you are tired of looking at the list of spells and skills.. Some of the other things that Rising Moon has: Multi Class -- There is 10 classes to choose from, you get to pick 4. You can use as many classes as you want. 4 is a good balance for multi classing. Race languages, so you can talk in your own race language to others of your own race and they are the only ones that understand it. (untill others learn in a form of percents, the lang) Groups -- I have added the abitlity to use the who list to see groups. gjobs and gtitles are also in. Temples -- you have temples of the gods, where you can pray and be a follower of such god, where in turn you can sacfice corpses to for sac points in exchange for the use of holy items. (of which do have timers, and can not be giving to other characters or be rented) do_who -- some of its features besides listing groups, you can list clans and clan members, or just the people of your temple. Guilds -- You level in guilds, using the commands level or level gain.. level shows you how much exp you need, level gain lets you level. as for practices, i removed them, when you set spells to min level, when they reach that level, they get it automaticly, but only at 30%, and thanks to the improve_skill (dont rem the author) as you use they skills or spells, you have a chance of improving on them, 1 to 3 % at a time. up to the max percent. Tweeked the medit, oedit, redit to add more protection from those gods that just like to goof off, and really dont take building very sereuse. (spelling at 1 am in morning not very good!) Houses -- very nice piece of code, when it came to payment, it drove me nuts when i loged on and everybody was making payments to me, never seem to get anything done, so I added an excange command at the bank, that lets you turn gold coins into gold bars, which i allowed to be mailed thorough the mud mail system. The use of jails, very nice, for those players that just get under your skin :) and they stay that way till they are proaled. even if they disconnect.. :) Wrap -- a wonderful thing, wrap is short for wrap sheet. you can wrap a player when they have done something wrong or when you wnat to put something they did good in a file so that other gods can read this wrap sheet and see what is going on with these players, even if you are not on line to let them all know. and i took it even one step ferther, If a god jails someone, the wrap sheet is automatictly updated with what god did the jailing and why. and same updating when a god paroles someone. I really liked the auto quest code also, which was used alot when RM was on line, did some modifations to this so that eq did not just pop anywhere and that the mobs they fight were of same level stats, (makes for a more fair fight :) ) This is some of the things that i can think of right off the top of my head. (rem, its 1 am here). Would like to post some of these things so that others may benefit from these things, like I have benefited from other postings. Just need a starting point.
