The existing code gives a reasonable starting point, and most gamers are familiar with the classic D&D stats. Beyond that, I would say just let imps customize any way they want to. I doubt that many people will agree on which aspects they like/love/hate/etc. You could end up spending an awful lot of time pleasing only a small percentage of the community.
