In a related note, in the past, I've spoken with the copyright
holders and creators of dikumud, as well as most of the live codebases
derived from diku, and they stated they would change to the GPL very
quickly as it more exactly defines the spirit of the license they wished
to have.

However, there was one sticking point; the GPL has no requirements
to require that the user of the game (a player) be shown the original
creators in the login sequence.

This incarnation of the GPL has nothing to account for additional
restrictions, but they've promised to look at the next version of it.

And, no, IANAL, but I have paid special attention to this issue.
