The practice command is implemented as SPECIAL(guild) and list_skills(..) in
spec_procs.c.  I'd compare those to the stock as a first step in case of any
unexpected modifications.  Minimum levels for skills/spells are set in
init_spell_levels(..) in class.c.  Also, compare do_start(..) (in class.c)
to stock.  That should at least get you going in the right direction.
