See George's rough timeline > for things which, like ASCII pfiles, require restructuring of the code and > can break backwards compatability. Funny, I'm online taking a break fromintegrating ascii pfiles right now. :) It definitely breaks backwards compat, yes. I'm finding all sorts of fun errors trying to apply the latest version of the ascii pfiles snippet (which was made for vanilla bpl19), and that's after spending a considerable amount of time trying to figure out how to modify the changes to match what bpl21(22) uses. It will be great to eventually see a CircleMUD which includes a bunch of improvements we've all been talking about. However I think it's best to not change horses in midstream, get through beta and then think about what should be done on the front of breaking through into new (and not compatable) ground. -Mathew -- +---------------------------------------------------------------+ | FAQ: http://qsilver.queensu.ca/~fletchra/Circle/list-faq.html | | Archives: http://post.queensu.ca/listserv/wwwarch/circle.html | | Newbie List: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/circle-newbies/ | +---------------------------------------------------------------+
