[newbie] storing spells in char file

I would like to have trainers across the mud train different
skills\spells.  But in order to this I need some type of system of storing
in the char file what skills people have.  I know it stores their
percentages, I am not sure how this information is stored or how to modify
it.  I just know I need to modify structs.h as a starting point.

Any guidance would be helpful.
