I'm not sure if this is a problem or not but I have been playing around with the getrusage() option in the record_usage function. The amount of memory the mud keeps going up as time goes on even if I don't type anything when I am on. I have also been using the 'ps aux' command under linux to keep track and the % of memory that the mud uses goes up also as time goes on. For example: PID %CPU %MEM SIZE RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND 30186 9.1 11.8 1219 1760 pp0 S < 20:03 0:02 bin/circle -q 8000 30186 1.0 15.7 1299 2328 pp0 S < 20:03 0:02 bin/circle -q 8000 30186 0.3 15.8 1299 2340 pp0 S < 20:03 0:02 bin/circle -q 8000 30186 0.3 15.8 1303 2344 pp0 S < 20:03 0:02 bin/circle -q 8000 30186 0.2 15.8 1311 2352 pp0 S < 20:03 0:02 bin/circle -q 8000 30186 0.2 15.9 1315 2356 pp0 S < 20:03 0:02 bin/circle -q 8000 This is only over a 20 minute period or so and with only one user logged on. I am prining a hell of a lot of information to the mudlog file (for debugging purposes). Is this increase in the amount of memory usage normal? I am kind of alarmed by it as I didn't expect the memory to go up unless of course if other players log in or new areas are introduced. Can anyone give me any advice on what I should I do (if anything)? -Haddixx -- +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ | Haddixx | -=-=-Implementor of Avalanche MUD-=-=- | + Brian M.
