This was one of the first things I changed with CircleMUD. I changed it so that all items flagged !TAKE will still load on the ground (so imms don't load fountains into their inventories, for example). The main reason for doing this is that you have total control over where the item goes, not just loading it to the ground, then having someone take the item when you didn't intend it for them. Granted, you could just force the person to give it up, but this way just removes the hassle. Or, you could even do this: load o <vnum> <person> (Only if object is loaded, parse the person, not mobs). So that the item will load into the person you intended.
