Gee, thanks for duplicating my point George. His fix is what I was disputing for that reason. His fix checks to see if the player of the same name is already on, but occasionally you'll lose link and the mud will still see you linked. Then with his fix, you wouldn't be able to log back in until your char idles out, which for an imp is never. >Nathan Davies, > >On Fri, 24 Oct 1997, Davies, Nathan wrote: > >>Wouldn't this also mean that if you lost link, but the mud didn't know >>you lost it, which has happened to me on some muds, that you couldn't >>log back in until your char idled out...which for certain imm levels is >>never. > >In current CircleMUD you'll disconnect the other person currently on. > >You take over your own body, already in use! >[ Azalin has re-logged in ... disconnecting old socket. ] >500H 1M 82V > >[ Losing descriptor without char. ] >500H 1M 82V > > >and > >This body has been usurped! > >Multiple login detected -- disconnecting. >Connection closed by foreign host. > >-- >George Greer - Me@Null.net | Genius may have its limitations, but >stupidity >http://www.van.ml.org/~greerga | is not thus handicapped. -- Elbert Hubbard > > > +------------------------------------------------------------+ > | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | > | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | > +------------------------------------------------------------+ > +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
