I was just talking to my other imp about this yesterday...this might not be the best idea, but then again, it could be the best idea...in process_output, where it checks for if the player is being snooped, but another check for a flag or something, and add the function call that records this to a file. This would log everything that player sees to a file. Similiarily, process_input or the like would be useful for what they typed... >Nathan Davies, > >What about giving immortals ability to log text being sent by MUD to other >player to a file chosen by imm? >With this option, most new MUDs can view full logs of >their first players and check for bugs in game etc. Also, if someone is >complaining that other char is abusing something, imp can log other char's >actions and see, does he something wrong or not. Of course there should be >some limits like stop logging if file is more than 1 mb, etc etc. >I'm going to implement this thingie in next few days. If any experienced >coders can give me an advice where to start or which problems I can run >into, I'll be very thankful to hear them. >If there is already an implementation of player logging somewhere on >snippet sites, please let me know. > > Andrey (andrey@alex-ua.com) > aka Zmey//RMUD > +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
