max connections

Greetings, folx. I haven't had time to play/code on my mud in quite a
long time, but decided to drag it back out recently. I haven't made any
changes to it since January. I've hit an odd problem that I don't have
an explanation for, and I'm hoping somebody else might have a suggestion.

I can't get more than four characters into the game at once. On the fifth
connection, I get a "Connecting to.." type of screen on my telnet session,
but it just sits there. A "netstat -s" tells me that my machine has
spawned a socket and is trying to connect to port 5000 (where the mud is
running), but that's it. Systemlog isn't telling me much either.

Again, I haven't made any code changes since January. The only things
that HAVE changed is that I've changed domains, and my new domain
nameserver is not working correctly. I have recompiled twice, with
nameserver_is_slow = NO and nameserver_is_slow = YES in config.c,  and
MAX_PLAYERS is set to 150 (which is the way i had it before), but the
problem still persists.

Any ideas, or am I losing my mind/changed someting that I might have
forgotten about?  Thanks..
