It's awfully useful in the clients that use it - it allows them to snarf the prompt (since the prompt is identified as ending with a GA sequence, and starting after the previous newline) and display it on the status line and/or remove it from the main MUD output. I can't imagine seeing the prompt spam my screen again! :) One such client is tinyfugue, another is mcl, MUD Client for Linux, http://www.abandoned.org/drylock/mcl/. I like the latter one better, in fact it's the only one I ever use! <G> ============================================================================= Erwin Andreasen Herlev, Denmark <erwin@pip.dknet.dk> UNIX System Programmer <URL:http://www.abandoned.org/drylock/> <*> (not speaking for) DDE ============================================================================= +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
