Um just a thought. I want be downloading a new bpl but adding ascii pfiles takes a step away from stock from what my way of thinking says. Binary files are faster to load and read. And if one day you get your mud to a point where it starts taxing you box u may wish you had even world files in binary. I am making a it so we build on a build port then convert world files to bindary for game mud. Doing this I shaved 4 megs of my games usage with just me on. We have over 12k rooms. Like i said just a thought. Just a thought,,,,Think on that opinions difer and perhaps somethings should be left to the individual mud owner to decide? > > I would assume that something like Oasis and ASCII pfiles are slated for > 4.0? Here again for a long running process You have to start counting bytes. We making a version for game port that has no olc and one that does with the build port. +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
