Very strange, the problems some people are having with the circle shell scripts in Cygnus. I am able to type "configure" or "autorun &" without using SH or BASH, and everything runs the way it's supposed to. Of course, I know a thing or two about both Windows and Unix, and setting up Cygnus was a snap. Also, I notice that when some people are submitting their problems with Cygnus, other's give the solution: "install Linux" or some such. I am aware that Redhat Linux is getting easier and easier to install with each new release version, but if someone is having problems configuring Cygnus, Linux will be quite a stretch to say the least. Just my two cents. If anyone is having problems with Cygnus I would be glad to share my configuration with you...(actually, if you check the mailing list archives, you will see that I already have.....) sT -----Original Message----- From: Robert Alexander Rossow [SMTP:rrossow1@purdue.edu] Sent: Saturday, April 03, 1999 2:29 PM To: CIRCLE@post.queensu.ca Subject: Re: [NEWBIE][SYSTEM]Help me please... Ok i run my mud using Cygnus. inorder to run shell scripts like configure you need to type sh so it will be sh ./configure and sh autorun & that should help. -Robert To call me insane is an understatement. -Me +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://qsilver.queensu.ca/~fletchra/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+ +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://qsilver.queensu.ca/~fletchra/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
