Where can I learn about the Cygwin program and specifically what it can
do for a mud?

I'm an experienced builder and a beginning coder... but I'm having a
little trouble with Cygwin. I need to know how to uncompress and install
patches for muds, different ways to startup and shut them down, and
basically a little more than the one command I know.
