> But as someone else mentioned, having 'dice' on weapons means that you can > get consistency. For example, two weapons, one does 3d3 damage, the other > does 2d4+1. Which one would you take? Why? :) AVG damage of 2d4+1 = 6 AVG damage of 3d3 = 6 TOP damage of 2d4+1 = 9 TOP damage of 3d3 = 9 LOW damage of 2d4+1 = 3 LOW damage of 3d3 = 3 Number of dice is the only difference here. This means that it is more likely that the 2d4+1 weapon will hit a high or low value. It will tend to be the more extreme die, while the 3d3 weapon will tend more towards the average. So, essentially, it'll depend on if you'd rather see more mid-range hits, or more extreme ones. In the end, it doesn't matter over time. -Mathew -- +---------------------------------------------------------------+ | FAQ: http://qsilver.queensu.ca/~fletchra/Circle/list-faq.html | | Archives: http://post.queensu.ca/listserv/wwwarch/circle.html | | Newbie List: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/circle-newbies/ | +---------------------------------------------------------------+
