>This is your third posting in a row concerning people "help you" >with implementing something. You might consider learning how to >do these things for yourself. Why would he want to do that? If he had to do that, he might learn something, and then he would have to do it himself? We can't expect him to LEARN can we? I mean, then he wouldn't have everything handed to him on a silver platter. Probably one of those people who has the money to buy a pay site, or has some rich family member who can give them a site. Sorry to sound so angry, but I am so pissed with people who have the nerve to ASK someone to do something for them, when they are supposed to be coding a MUD. If someone wants to code a MUD, they should learn to do it themselves and not ask everyone to do it. I know, you asked for hints and suggestions, but considering you can get those from looking at the old discussions on these topics in the old archives. If you want to bring up the discussion again, and get new ideas, fine, but don't ask someone to tell you what to do. ObCircle: I have heard people talking about how they made their MUD 'backwards compatible' with old world files. I am thinking doing something similar to what Jeremy did with the new shop format. Any other algorithms that people use? +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ensure that you have read the CircleMUD Mailing List FAQ: | | http://democracy.queensu.ca/~fletcher/Circle/list-faq.html | +------------------------------------------------------------+
