Just read a post from DAK addressing security briefly. I have been away from mudding for a spell, but still keep an eye on the list. For an average joe with a say.. cable or DSL connection, what are the current security risks to ones comp by allowing access via telnet as verses SSH? I havn't really looked that hard, but as far as I know most or all muds are done via telnet. I'm sorry if this is too far off topic, was just wondering if the trend of the future might be an alternative to telnet based clients and servers. Feel free to "bonk me" George if this is a dumb one :) RS -- +---------------------------------------------------------------+ | FAQ: http://qsilver.queensu.ca/~fletchra/Circle/list-faq.html | | Archives: http://post.queensu.ca/listserv/wwwarch/circle.html | +---------------------------------------------------------------+
